Cracked heels can be extremely painful. They're mainly caused by having calloused heels that finally crack under the weight of your body. This can be a result of dry weather, not moisturizing your feet, and using harsh soaps. If you calloused heels have cracked, here are some great ways to heal them as quickly as possible.

Fruit Mask

Fruit has natural enzymes that can soften and smooth your skin. This will help your cracked heels repair much more quickly. They often heal slowly because they dry, calloused skin doesn't have the elasticity to repair itself. A fruit mask is a great way to begin healing your skin. Mash up a banana, an avocado, and some coconut flesh. Make a paste and cover your feet in it. Make sure you put a generous amount on your heels. Rinse that mask and apply a thick healing moisturizer.

Milk & Honey Soak

You can find milk and honey in many different skincare products. This is because they're naturally moisturizing. The honey also has natural antibacterial properties that can keep infections at bay. All you need to do is mix one part honey with two parts milk in a basin large enough to soak your feet. Let your feet soak for about 10 minutes, and then begin to massage them while they continue to soak. Massage them for another 10 minutes and then rinse them with water and apply a moisturizer.

Vinegar Soak

Vinegar is one of the best things to soak your feet in when they're dry. The acid in the vinegar will exfoliate and help soften your feet. Just make sure you dilute it so you don't wind up drying your feet out even more. Fill up a soaking basin with warm water and then add a quarter cup of vinegar. Next, add moisturizing oil such as melted coconut oil or olive oil. After soaking your feet for about 10 minutes, begin scrubbing them with a pumice stone. Gently scrub around the crack in your heeAl to try and get the dead skin off and soften it. After a few minutes of gentle scrubbing, dry your feet and apply a moisturizer.

Homemade Foot Ointment

Applying a homemade foot ointment can heal your cracked skin quickly. To make the ointment, you will need:

  • 3 tbsp beeswax
  • ¼ cup shea butter
  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • 1/ cup magnesium flakes
  • 2-3 drops of peppermint oil

You will need a pot of boiling water and a mason jar to make it in. All you need to do is put a pot of boiling water on the stove. Put the mason jar in the pot, but make sure the water isn't high enough to get inside. Add all of the ingredients and allow them to melt. Stir and take off the heat.
